Radish Raita





Radish Raita:



Radish Raita is delicious and healthy diet recipe. It is very easy to prepare. This tangy and flavorful radish raita isn’t just tasty, but also has a number of nutritional facts. This is very filling and low in calories, so they make a good afternoon snack and keep you from feeling hungry. Since, they are extremely high in dietary fibre, they’re tend to ease the digestive process. Also, Radish is found to be rich in vitamins like C, K & B6.

Here comes the delightfully refreshing recipe of Radish Raita…Enjoy…:)



Ingredients:



·         White radish                              - 2
·         Carrot                                       - 1
·         Yoghurt                                    - 1 cup
·         Green chillies                            - 2 or 3
·         Oil                                            - 1 tsp
·         Mustard seeds                          - ¼ tsp
·         Cumin seeds                             - ½ tsp
·         Coriander leaves                       - 1 cup
·         Salt to taste


Method:





1.     Wash, clean and chop radish and carrot to fine pieces.
2.     Beat the yoghurd in a bowl.
3.     Add the chopped radish and carrot pieces.
4.     Add salt and chopped coriander leaves.
5.     Cut the chillies in long pieces.
6.     Heat oil in a pan.
7.     Once the oil is heat, add mustard, cumin seeds  and allow to crackle.
8.     Add green chillies and take the pan off from heat.
9.     Let the contents cool down.
10.  Then transfer the contents to raita and mix well.
11.  Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
12.  Refrigerate and serve chill.




13.  Serve it as a side dish for rice or chaptis n rotis.

Ginger Cucumber Raita



Ginger Cucumber Raita:



Ginger Cucumber Raita is a healthy and nutritious dish, ideal for summer months. As we all know ginger is a medicinal herb and regarded as a healing gift from God, and is commonly used to cleanse and warm the body. It is used in the treatment of cold & cough, joint pain, malaria and toothache.

Cucumber also has countless health benefits, it’s an excellent source of vit C, folic acid and potassium. The skin of the cucumber is rich in fibre content. And this nutritious dish together with ginger and cucumber provides the nutritional balance for our body and tastes awesome..Lets enjoy the recipe here…!







Ingredients:



·         Ginger                                      - small piece               
·         Cucumber                                - 1
·         Green chilly                              - 1
·         Yogurd                                    - 1 cup
·         Grated coconut flower             - 2 tbsp
·         Salt to taste
·         Coriander leaves


Method:





1.      Grind ginger, coconut flower, green chilly in a blender to fine smooth paste by sprinkling little water.

2.      Grate cucumber to fine pieces.

3.      Transfer the grated cucumber to a bowl, add the above paste and salt.

4.      Add yoghurd (Curd or Dahi), chopped coriander leaves and combine together.




5.      Healthy tasty ginger cucumber Raita ready to enjoy…!

Plantain stem Yogurd Raita



Plantain stem Yogurd Raita: 
(Vazhaithandu Thayir Pacchadi)


This dish tastes awesome and cools body immediately, so ideal for hot season.
Plantain stem contains lot of fibre content and the combination of yogurd with
cooked plantain stem is very nutritious and loaded with energy. My mom used
to prepare this often and its very easy to prepare also…




Ingredients:


  • Plantain stem                           - 1 piece

  • Oil                                           - 1 tsp

  • Mustard                                   - ¼ tsp

  • Red chilly                                - 1 or 2

  • Yogurd                                    - 1 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Coriander leaves



Method:


  1. Clean and cut plantain stem to thin round slices and chen chop it to fine pieces.

  2. Heat oil in a pan, temper with mustard and red chilly.

  3. Add chopped plantain stem and toss it.

  4. Add salt, sprinkle water and allow to boil for 5 mins.

  5. Take it aside. Allow to cool.

  6. Add thick yogurd ( curd or dahi) , mix well.





  1. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

Onion Raitha:





Onion Raitha:



This dish pairs well with briyani and pulao menus. This can also be taken by itself. This is a healthy and nutritious recipe, particularly in summer hot days, coz it keeps the body cool and maintains the water balance required.  The main ingredient onion added to curd has a great medicinal value, onion is easy way to add flavor and has vision protecting Lutein and zeaxanthin present in it.



This recipe can be prepared within 5 minutes and easy too.



Ingredients:



  • Curd (yoghurd)           - 1 cup

  • Onion                          - 2

  • Cucumber                   - 1 small

  • Carrot                          - 1

  • Tomato                        - 1 small

  • Fresh coriander leaves

  • Salt to taste



Method:



  1. Take curd in a bowl, add salt to it and mix well.

  2. Chop  onion to fine slices.

  3. Grate cucumber, carrot to small pieces.

  4. Chop tomato and coriander leaves  to small pieces.

  5. Add all the above to curd and stir well.

  6. You can also add ½ tsp sugar, this sweet raitha taste invites kids to take more.







  1. Tasty Onion Raitha, ready to serve.
