Spicy Chicken Masala & Blog Awards..!





















Spicy Chicken Masala:






Chicken Masala is a delightfully simple Indian dish , which is bursting full of color and flavor...!


This is an all  time favorite among chicken lovers. The recipe is quite easy to make with spicy ingredients. It makes a elegant side dish with rice or  naan ( Indian breads )  and makes for a yummy family meal or special occasion.




Here goes the easy &  tasty recipe..!








Ingredients:






·         Chicken                                    - ½ kg
·         Oil                                            - 3 tbsp
·         Turmeric pwd                             - ½ tsp
·         Red chilly pwd                           - 1 tsp
·         Pepper pwd                               - 1 ½ tsp
·         Onion                                        - 2
·         Ginger garlic paste                     - 1 tbsp
·         Tomato                                     - 2
·         Cumin pwd                                - ¼  tsp
·         Cinnamon stick                          - 1
·         Chicken broth                            - ¼ cup
·         Garam masala pwd                    - 1 tsp
·         Fresh lemon juice                      - 1 tsp
·         Salt to taste
·         Fresh cilantro leaves








Method:






















1.     Chop chicken to pieces.
2.     Add oil in a fry pan and heat it.
3.     Add salt, turmeric pwd, red chilly pwd and pepper pwd.
4.     Give a quick stir and add the  chicken pieces.
5.     Brown it in the masala spice,  for few minutes.
6.     Remove and keep aside.
7.     Add chopped onion.
8.     Sauté until tender.
9.     Add ginger garlic paste and sauté further.
10.  Make sure there is enough oil, so that nothing sticks to fry pan.
11.  Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they form a sauce ( 3 to 4 mins )
12.  Now add cumin pwd, cinnamon stick, chicken broth and  chicken.
13.  Add ¼  cup water and combine.
14.  Cover and simmer until the chicken is cooked.
15.  Stir in the garam masala pwd.
16.  Remove from flame.
17.  Add a tsp of lemon juice and mix.
18.  Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro leaves.
19.  Serve hot with roti, naan, chapatti, paratha or white rice.
























20.  Enjoy the delicious taste of spicy chicken masala..!

3. If you are to go to a cruise, where would it be and why?     My destination would be  Carribean sea. I would love to cruise with my Hubby  & enjoy the mesmerizing  natural beauty..:)










4. How would you spend your vacation time and with whom?    I really love to travel and see different places. Relaxing on beach, shopping, sightseeing,  resort stay , eating and discovering new lands are my favorites.










5.  If given a chance, what life would you choose? Your life now or your past?    I will choose both. I will have a chance to enjoy my childhood with my parents again. And My life now..:)










6.  Is there something that you wished before when you were young but you didn’t get it?     I wished to study medicine n be a doctor, but didn't :)






7.  Have you been in a situation where you might have given up but still you chose to move on?   Too personal, to put here..










8.  Is their someone in your life who has been your source of strength and inspiration?    Yeah, my DH, my two kids, my parents and most of all the almighty above are always the source of strength and inspiration to me.

Carrot Paratha & Thanks for the Hundred Hearts Award..!!!

















Carrot Paratha:





For yesterday’s dinner, I made this Carrot Paratha and mutter paneer masala. Together, it was a yummy combo and made a wholesome and tasty meal. 




Parathas are whole-wheat Indian flat bread. It can be made plain or stuffed with different filling. In this recipe, the raw carrot and cabbage shreds are mixed with wheat flour dough and spices. 




Here goes the tasty Indain recipe..:)










 Ingredients:






·         Grated Carrot & Cabbage                  - 1 cup
·         Green chilly                                           - 1 or 2
·         Ginger                                                   - small piece
·         Cumin seeds                                         - ½ tsp
·         Oil                                                        - 2 tbsp
·         Wheat flour                                            - 2 cups
·         Salt as needed










Method:

















1.     Wash and grate carrot ,  cabbage to fine pieces.
2.     Grind green chillies, ginger and cumin seeds to smooth paste.
3.     Heat oil in a fry pan.
4.     Add the above paste and fry for a minute.
5.     In a bowl add wheat flour, salt,  grated carrot, cabbage , the ground paste .
6.     Knead it to soft dough, by adding little water at a time.

















7.     Make 2 to 3 inches round balls with the dough and roll them into flat round size chapattis.

































8.     Heat a tawa , apply oil and roast the parathas both sides on medium flame till done.
















9.     Serve hot with  your favorite side dish or dahi raitha.
