Plantain stem Yogurd Raita:
(Vazhaithandu Thayir Pacchadi)
This dish tastes awesome and cools body immediately, so ideal for hot season.
Plantain stem contains lot of fibre content and the combination of yogurd with
cooked plantain stem is very nutritious and loaded with energy. My mom used
to prepare this often and its very easy to prepare also…
Ingredients:
- Plantain stem - 1 piece
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Mustard - ¼ tsp
- Red chilly - 1 or 2
- Yogurd - 1 cup
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves
Method:
- Clean and cut plantain stem to thin round slices and chen chop it to fine pieces.
- Heat oil in a pan, temper with mustard and red chilly.
- Add chopped plantain stem and toss it.
- Add salt, sprinkle water and allow to boil for 5 mins.
- Take it aside. Allow to cool.
- Add thick yogurd ( curd or dahi) , mix well.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
