Homemade Plantain Chips / Healthy Snack Recipe















Homemade  Plantain Chips : 





Homemade Fried Plantain Chips and Hot Tea is a best snack-time combination. This recipe makes a really great and healthy snack for kids...!!!



The key for the crispness of this chips ,   is to slice the plantains thinly & evenly and to fry them in oil that is hot,  but not smoking. These chips are tasty on their own and the added spices enhances its flavor..! Give a try today..!




Here goes the easiest and quickest recipe..!












Ingredients:






















·         Green plantains                         - 2
·         Pepper pwd                               - ¼ tsp
·         Red chilly pwd                           - ¼ tsp
·         Salt                                          -  to taste
·         Oil                                            - to fry














Method: 




















1.     Wash and peel the skin of plantains.
2.     Cut the plantain in half and slice into thin pieces.














3.     Sprinkle salt, pepper pwd and red chilly pwd.
















4.     Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
5.     Heat the oil over medium heat  in a frying pan.
6.     Add the plantain slices.
7.     Drop just enough slices, so that the vessel isn’t overcrowded.
8.     Deep fry to golden.
9.     Turn them gently using a spatula.
10.  Once it is golden on both sides, remove them on to a kitchen tissue to drain any excess oil.
11.  Repeat with the remaining batches of plantain slices.
12.  Now the homemade plantain chips is ready!
13.  Serve warm.


















14.  Plantain chips can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
