The Lord Krishna’s birth is celebrated as Janmashtami in India and also in other places around the world. This is one of the important festival and on this day elders give blessings to children and other family members.
Well, I prepared Maladu, one of the delicious sweet for this special occasion. This is a healthy and tasty sweet , which is very easy to prepare . It came absolutely tempting and yummy.

Ingredients:
- Fried gram / Roasted gram / pottukadalai - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1 ½ cup
- Ghee - ¾ cup
- Cashew - 10
- Raisins - 10
- Cardamom pwd - ½ tsp
Method:
- Semi roast fried gram in a dry pan.
- Allow to cool and grind to fine pwd.
- Grind sugar separately to pwd.
- Heat 2 tbsp of ghee in a frying pan.
- Roast cashew and raisins to golden.
- Add powdered fried gram and sugar, cardamom pwd in the frying pan.
- Keep the flame low and stir continuously.
- Melt the remaining ghee in another pan.
- Once the sugar pwd combines, and rich aroma comes out, turn off the flame.
- Add warm ghee slowly, and combine well.
- Add ghee to the dough, till, you get the right consistency to make small ladoo balls.
- Apply oil in palms and make small ladoos off the above dough.
- Take care the ladoo does not break or stick to hands.
- The secret remains in the addition of warm ghee and mixing up.
- Yummy, delicious, healthy Maladu ready to delight you…
