Chicken Kurma:
Chicken Kurma serves as an excellent side for Chapatis, Idly, Dosa. Also it tastes great with Briyani , Pulao, Roti and Naan. This dish is appealing with its spicy taste and flavor. Its method of preparation is simple too…
Ingredients:
- Chicken - ½ kg
- Oil - 5 tsp
- Onion - 2
- Tomato - 3
- Ginger garlic paste - 2tbsp
- Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
- Pepper powder - 1 ½ tbsp
- Red chilly powder - 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
- Green chilly - 2
- Coconut pieces - 1 cup
- Cashew - 3 to 4
- Salt to taste
- Few drops of lemon
- Curry and coriander leaves
Spices:
- Cloves - 2
- Cardamom - 2
- Cinnamon stick - 2
- Fennel seeds - ½ tsp
Method:
· Wash chicken and drain the water from it.
· Heat oil and add turmeric powder, ½ tsp red chilly pwd, ½ tsp pepper pwd, salt and sauté it.
· To this add chicken pieces, and sauté till the chicken absorbs the spices to it.
· Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onion, fry to golden brown.
· Add ginger garlic paste, followed by mashed tomatoes and sauté completely.
· Transfer these contents in pressure pan, add coriander pwd, pepper pwd, red chilly pwd, salt and cook it for 3 whistles.
· Toss the spices in 1 tsp hot oil and add to the kurma.
· Grind coconut pieces along with cashew to fine paste along with little water.
· Add this coconut paste to the kurma, and allow to boil for 1 minute.
